French Language

Kia ora this Wednesday we usually have tech in the afternoon and in the morning. I am in the afternoon group. So while we are waiting to go to tech, we have been learning how to speak French. We had to be in buddy \so we could create a conversation. My bubby was holly. This is my conversation in french. Have you ever created a conversation in a different language before?

Maori Animation

 

Kia ora this Wednesday we have been doing Maori animations. We are doing this because it is Maori language week this is the animation I have done. We started this on Wednesday and we had to finish it on Friday. What are you doing for Maori language week?

Kia ora my name is Kayla and I am a year 7 at Marshland school. 

This week in distance learning math we have been doing probability and fractions.

Online Distance Learning

 

Kia ora my name is Kayla and I go to Marshland school. Right now we are in lockdown so we have to do some online work. This is what I have done today. We had to read and watch a book about Pompeii witch was a city in Italy. On this slide, I have put 7 facts about Pompeii, which I made on canva. Concertina Oacen Art

 

Kia ora My name is Kayla I am a year 7 and I go to Marshland school.

This Wednesday we started to look and the ocean, and see what was

bad about it. So we created a piece of art showing good the side of the oacen and the bad side of it. This is the piece of art that I created, my good side of it is the bottom one and the top one is the bad side of it.

Mystical Matariki Kites

 Happy Matariki everyone! 

On the 2 July, we celebrated the Māori New Year, a time to consider the year ahead. The days are starting to lengthen and spring will soon be here, we just need to get through this cold winter first! 

Matariki and the star cluster, have got many stories attached to them. We looked at two. one about how Ranginui and Papatuanuku were separated by Tāne Mahuta, and how Tāwhirimatea was so angry he ripped out his eyes and threw thunderbolts up into the sky, creating the cluster, and another story about 7 sisters making kites, and them going to the sky. Ururangi’s kite was different from the rest, it was rainbow-colored. We have mixed these two stories to create the design of our kites.

Silverback Gorillas

 

Kia ora this week we have been doing information reports, I chose to do mine on Silverback Gorillas.

This is the finished product of my information report. The first thing we had to do was write down all of the facts that we knew onto a slide. Then we copied and pasted it onto a doc, but then we had to change the writing and make it sound better and it needed more describing words in it. After that, we pasted it on adobe spark. Here is my work that is now finally finished. Have you ever done an information report?

Stem Challenge / Book Hold

 

 

 Kia ora everybody today we did this stem challenge. For our create, a task we had to create a table and see how many books it could hold. The only things we could use were 1m of tape and 10 pieces of newspaper. For our design, we rolled up some of the newspaper and taped them all together. have you ever done this challenge before?

Hectors dolphin

 

Kia ora this week we had to pick an animal out of kiwi, sea lion hectors dolphin and sea bird.

I chose to do hectors dolphin because I wanted to learn more about them. Here is all of my information 

I found out about Hector dolphins. And at the end of publishing this, we had to use mote to record all of our information and then put it on this slide. Do you know anything about hector dolphins?

Maori New year - Matariki

Kia ora bloggers over the past few weeks we have been doing a piece of art. The piece of art we have been doing is mapping out Matariki, so we can see it when it is dark outside. The first thing we had to do was sketch out the design on a piece of paper. Then once we had finished sketching out the design we had to draw the same thing onto a piece of fome, but we had to do it backward and we had to press down on the piece of fome hard so when we printed it we would see it. After that it was time to print it, I did  3 pieces of printing. The first colors I did were dark blue and light and dark green, the second colors were black and blue and the last color was black, purple, and red. Then we had to go and get a big piece of paper and then put the piece of paper over the top of your design and then get the roller and roll all over the print. Finally, after the printing, we had to make a frame, this is how we made the frame first we got a big piece of paper and then cut it out with a knife, the shape was a square then we had to glue our printed pitcher out and glue it onto the frame. Have you ever done printing before?

Orangutans

 

  

Kia ora bloggers today in literacy we had to finish our orangutan's facts then put them all in paragraphs. After that, we had to find images of the types of things like habitat and stuff like that, then finally we had to publish all of our work onto adobe spark and then put it on our blog. Collective Nouns

 

 Hi, bloggers today we had to do this thing called collective nouns. Collective nouns are basically this, what I have done. This is my one I hope you like it and also have you ever done collective nouns before or something similar?

Orangutans facts

 

Kia ora everybody this week in literacy we have been learning about orangutans and how some of them are endangered. This is my orangutan facts where I got all of my info from, have you ever put all of your info on a google doc?

My Robot And Angles

Kia ora everybody today in maths we had to create our own robot. After we had created our robots we had to measure them with angels, the angles we could use were reflex, acute and obtuse. Here is my robot I made I hope you like it and have you ever done something like this or similar to it?

 

Stem And Egg Dropping

 

Kia Ora everyone today we did an experiment. We had to use some specific things like paper, rope, an egg, sellotape, and scissors. Using this equipment we had to create something that we could put an egg in. We made a bird nest then raped our plastic bag around it for a bit more support.  Me and my team was going to make a parachute but instead, we made an egg Nest. Next time we could add a bit more paper around it so it has more support. Then it was time to see if the egg would break or stay together we were up second. When it was our turn we had to say how we made it and what is supporting it. Then it was time to test it we all counted down from 3 when my teacher dropped it we all thought it was broken and unfortunately it was. Have you ever done something like this before and if so tell me what you did it on?

Chimpanzees Sanctuary

Kia Ora everybody for the past couple of weeks we have learning about Orangutans which are large apes. We have been reading a book on epic called endangered Chimpanzees. We have gotten information about what they eat, where they live, and so on. We have put all of our information into our Sanctuary here are some photos. Here are some sites we have looked on to learn more about Chimps and Orangutans, National Geographic Kids, San Diego Zoo and WWF. Do you know any more information about orangutans or chimpanzees?

 

Name Angles

 

Kia Ora today in maths we had to write our names with a ruler and then see what the angle was and the degree. I found this maths lesson was fun and challenging, But I like it that way. have you ever done this task before, and if so how do you find it was it challenging, fun, or, boring or if so all of them?
